Arlington, VA (September 22, 2015) — National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial services company dedicated to serving cooperatives nationwide recently held an organization-wide volunteer day where employees volunteered at five local organizations throughout the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.
“The Bank’s annual Volunteer Day tradition continues to grow each year, with an even greater number of employees participating to make a difference in the local communities these organizations serve,” said Charles E. Snyder, President and CEO of NCB. “We are proud this event is part of our company’s culture and mission, and the difference we make working with these organizations empowers both their recipients and our employees, in many ways.”
NCB teams volunteered at the following organizations:
Arlington Food Assistance Center, a community-based non-profit that provides supplemental groceries to Arlington, VA neighbors in need.
Comfort Cases, a local non-profit that provides a “backpack” of essentials to the brave children entering the foster-care system.
Habitat for Humanity, DC, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, helps reduce poverty housing and homelessness in the nation’s capital by building decent, affordable, energy-efficient homes for those in need.
Food and Friends, a local non-profit that prepares, packages and delivers meals and groceries to more than 14,000 people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses.
Sarah’s Circle, a local non-profit that provides award-winning affordable housing residence and wellness center providing comprehensive programs and services for very low-income seniors.
Women Giving Back, a local non-profit founded to help women and children in crisis by providing clothing at no cost. WGB has distributed over 300,000 items of clothing to 23,000 women and 15,300 children from over 100 shelters in Northern Virginia.
