Arlington, VA – (August 17, 2015) – National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial institution dedicated to providing banking solutions to cooperatives nationwide, is pleased to announce that it has ranked #25 on the Washington Business Journal’s Greater Washington’s Healthiest Employers 2015 list. This is the second consecutive year NCB has been recognized as a Healthy Employer.
The ranking was determined by Healthiest Employers, LLC, which was founded in 2009 to help companies create internal wellness programs. NCB had to complete an extensive application and was scored in the following categories: leadership commitment, communication and markets, foundational components, programming and interventions, strategic planning, and reporting and analysis.
National Cooperative Bank provides comprehensive banking products and services to cooperatives and other member-owned organizations throughout the country. What makes NCB unique is that the bank was created to address the financial needs of an underserved market niche—people who join together cooperatively to meet personal, social or business needs.
NCB is also committed to employee wellness and has created a robust Health Program for its more than 300 employees. Activities include Zumba classes, charity run/walks, lunch-time walking groups, standing desks, and health fairs.
“Being named as a Healthiest Employer for the second year is a great accomplishment for our company,” says Charles E. Snyder, President and CEO of National Cooperative Bank. “Our commitment to our employees is critical to the success of the organization and we are constantly trying to find more ways to engage our employees into the bank’s health challenge program.”
