Arlington, VA (July 17, 2024) — National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial institution dedicated to providing banking solutions to cooperatives and socially responsible organizations nationwide, provided $99,000 in grants to 47 non-profit organizations nationwide via NCB's Corporate Contributions Committee for the first half of 2024.
NCB's employee-driven Corporate Contributions Committee (CCC) is comprised of NCB employees who volunteer their time to review applications on a monthly basis from 501(c)3, non-profit organizations that rely on community support to achieve their missions.
In the first half of 2024, the Committee approved grants for a variety of organizations serving community needs such as education, community development, health and human services, arts and culture, cooperative development, and capacity building. Here is just a small example of the support NCB has shown so far this year:
- NCB donated $2,500 to the Freestore Foodbank in Ohio. With NCB’s support, each Friday during the school year, this organization sends packs of food, known as Power Packs, home with students at Hillsboro City Schools to ensure they have something to eat on weekends. Each Power Pack contains over a dozen food items, which are shelf-stable and kid-friendly.
- NCB donated $2,500 to National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC) in Virginia. NCB’s donation supports NAKASEC's mission to organize Korean and Asian Americans to achieve social, economic, and racial justice.
- NCB donated $2,500 to Theta Omicron Scholarship Foundation Inc. based in Rochester, New York. This donation was used to help support economically disadvantaged youth in the Rochester area and to develop educational programs.
