NCB Provides Program to Make Wishes Comes True

Hillsboro, OH – (May 18, 2016) – National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial institution which provides banking products and services to Southern Ohio and the nation's cooperatives, their members and other socially responsible organizations, announces that residents of The Laurels of Hillsboro will have an increased quality of life due to the Wish Comes True program provided by NCB through operation of the Senior Crimestoppers program provided by the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation.

As a sponsored facility in nationally acclaimed crime prevention program, Senior Crimestoppers, The Laurels of Hillsboro is now eligible to participate in the Wish Comes True program, whose purpose is to fulfill a wish or need for one or more of the residents. Items purchased provide an increased quality of life and are events the residents look forward to on a daily basis.

The Wish Comes True program has provided:

Wii systems for rehabilitation and entertainment

Bingo machines for afternoon entertainment

Themed parties like luau’s and fair games

Specially built flower gardens and planter boxes for wheel chair accessibility

Televisions and juke boxes in the community room for daily entertainment

“Senior Crimestoppers is a way for an administrator to enhance the lives of the residents they serve by providing an additional layer of safety and security. In addition to the crime prevention program, the Foundation and their sponsoring bank, NCB, want to provide special items or events that provide endless hours of entertainment and meaningful contact that the facility might not be able to provide in its already stretched budget,” said Terry Rooker, President of Senior Crimestoppers.

“Working together to help build community is a critical component to NCB’s overall mission and we are proud to partner with the Senior Crimestoppers and the Laurels of Hillsboro to make this program possible,” stated Deb Jones, NCB Co-President Ohio Region.

NCB representative, Tim Grooms, presented the Senior Crimestoppers Wish Comes True check to Lindsey Puckett, Marketing Director and Jo Sanborn, Administrator. The Laurels of Hillsboro will be surveying the residents to see what they would like to use the funds for this spring.
