MedicalAt NCB, we offer three types of medical coverage. You can use the preferred provider network and pay a low payment of $15, or go out of the network, use your own medical provider and have an 80 percent coverage after meeting the deductible. Choose the Aetna HMO plan and pay a small co-payment. Domestic partner coverage is available through Aetna HMO as well.
NCB pays 70 percent of the premium for regular full-time employees, and 50 percent of the premium for regular part-time employees.
Don't need medical because you're covered under your spouse or partner? Waive medical coverage at NCB and get $1,200 each year. Apply the $1,200 to any of our à la carte benefits for your convenience.
Prescription Drug Plan Fill your prescriptions with brand name or generic drugs at any participating drug store for a small co-pay, or use the mail-order option and take advantage of even greater savings. Our HMO plan provides separate prescription drug coverage as well.
Dental Our dental plan pays 100 percent for preventative and diagnostic services. Basic services are paid at 80 percent with no deductible; and major services are paid at 50 percent after meeting a $50 deductible. The plan also covers orthodontics. Domestic partner coverage is available through Aetna DMO. Our regional offices also have the option of an Aetna DMO or an Aetna PPO depending on location.
Vision Our vision plan pays 100 percent of the reasonable and customary rates for an eye exam every 12 months. Lenses, frames and contacts are also covered.
Health Care Reimbursement Account NCB offers a flex spending account to cover eligible medical, vision, and dental out-of-pocket expenses on a pre-tax basis.
Employee Assistance Program We offer a free, confidential counseling service available to employees and their immediate families provided by experienced, credentialed mental health professionals. Employees are eligible for six visits per calendar year. Services are provided for professional support as well as financial and legal services.

Retirement PlanAfter one year of service, NCB employees are eligible to participate in the retirement plan. The Bank decides its contribution at the end of the year. Employees must be employed on December 31 to receive the retirement contribution. A variety of investment options are available to help you grow your retirement savings. You become 100-percent vested after working at the bank six years.
401(k) Savings Plan Employees can contribute up to 60 percent of base salary to NCB's 401(k) plan. Get dollar-for-dollar matching up to six percent of your pre-tax contributions immediately. Several investment fund options are available to choose from, and you are fully vested in the bank's matching contribution after six years. You are eligible to begin participating in the plan on the first day of each month.
Consumer Banking NCB employees earn an extra one percent of interest and have reduced fees on a variety of checking and savings accounts. Take advantage of the one-percent lower interest rate for loans—home mortgage, home equity or auto. Apply for an NCB Visa card with low interest rates, and no annual fee.

Holiday Leave NCB observes 11 paid holidays.
Sick Leave Each year, we provide six days of sick leave. If you are hired on or after July 1, you get three sick days for the remainder of that year.
Vacation Leave NCB works hard and plays hard, so we give employees two or three weeks of vacation each year. New hires get a prorated amount after completing three months of employment at the bank. If you are hired on or after July 1, you will be entitled to two or three weeks of vacation beginning the following January. Work at the bank more than five years, get up to four weeks of vacation; more than 10 years, enjoy up to five weeks of paid time off.
Personal Leave We give our employees two days of personal leave per year. If you are hired on or after July 1 through September 30, you get one personal day for that year.
Maternity Leave We provide our mothers with six weeks of paid maternity leave. Service requirements apply.
Adoption Leave For mothers who adopt, we provide four weeks of paid leave. Service requirements apply.
Miscellaneous Leave NCB offers other types of paid time off, including bereavement, military and jury duty.

Life Insurance At our expense, you are covered at three times your salary to a maximum of $500,000.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance At our expense, you are covered at three times your salary to a maximum of $500,000.
Travel Accident Insurance At our expense, you are covered for work-related travel accidents up to $100,000.
Workers' Compensation Coverage begins on your date of hire.
Retirement Insurance Employees who retire from NCB at age 65 or older are eligible for retiree Medicare gap insurance. Retirees and their dependents receive discounted rates and pay 100 percent of the premium. When you retire, you can also continue your health coverage indefinitely at your own expense.

Education Assistance & Tuition Reimbursement At NCB we offer $5,500 per year to help employees enhance their careers through undergraduate or graduate degree programs. We also pay 100 percent of graduate preparation class fees, and we pay for the Charter Financial Analyst and the Certified Public Accountant preparation and examination fees. You are eligible for this benefit after six months of service.
Employee Training NCB provides extensive personal and professional training and development to help you develop in your career at NCB.
Company-Paid Membership NCB pays for corporate and individual memberships in various professional, technical and business organizations that are applicable to your job at NCB.
Performance Appraisals and Salary Reviews Evaluations and salary reviews are conducted for all employees each year, and merit increases are based on the Bank's performance and on the individual's performance. Our new employees are evaluated monthly during their 90-day introductory period.

Short-term Disability If you are out sick for more than six consecutive days you are eligible for our short-term disability plan, where NCB continues to pay your salary for up to 90 days. This plan has no salary limit or maximum benefits paid. You are eligible for this benefit after you have successfully completed your introductory period.
Long-term Disability Our long-term disability begins on day 91 of medical leave. Under this plan, you will receive two-thirds of your salary up to a maximum of $15,000 per month. You are eligible for this benefit after you have successfully completed your introductory period.
À La Carte

The benefits listed in the À La Carte section are employee-paid benefits. For convenience, use payroll deduction for most of these benefits.
Supplemental Life Insurance Purchase additional life insurance through Hartford Life for you, your spouse and/or dependent children at special group rates. Take this benefit with you when you leave the bank.
Supplemental Personal Protection Insurance NCB has partnered with the American Family Life Assurance Company (AFLAC) to supplement our health coverage. AFLAC helps to fill the gaps created by co-payments, deductibles, loss of income and various out-of-pocket expenses not covered under major medical plans through cash benefits paid directly to you. With AFLAC, you choose the policies you want including coverage for cancer, accidental injury, personal short-term disability and more.
Discounts We offer discounts on movie tickets.
Domestic Partner Coverage Medical and dental coverage is available for domestic partners through Aetna HMO. A vision discount plan is also available.
Emergency Child Care If you work in the Washington, DC/Virginia, New York or Oakland office take advantage of the Bright Horizons emergency childcare centers for $15 per day per child.
Dependent Care Reimbursement Account For parents who have childcare expenses, sign up for this flex fund and save money on a pre-tax basis. This account can also be used if your spouse or domestic partner is a full-time student.
Legal Services For a small monthly fee, take advantage of this legal service plan provided by Hyatt Legal for document review and preparation, civil lawsuit defense, real estate matters, family matters and debt collection defense.
Pet Insurance Protect your dog or cat by purchasing pet insurance through VPI for a small monthly fee. This coverage provides routine care and preventative medicine, including an annual physical exam, vaccinations, and more.

Adoption Reimbursement To assist you with adoption expenses, NCB pays up to $5,000. Service requirements apply.
Alternative Work Arrangements We offer several alternative work arrangements including flexible arrival and departure times, and teleworking. Arrangements must be approved in advance by your supervisor.
Blood Donor Program Get four hours of vacation yearly by giving blood.
Bonuses A yearly incentive plan is available to most employees based on your performance, your team and the Bank's performance.
