National Cooperative Bank Sponsors Cabot Creamery Cooperative Reward Volunteers Program

Arlington, VA – June 1, 2016 – For the second consecutive year, National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial services company dedicated to serving cooperatives and socially responsible organizations nationwide, is a major sponsor of the Reward Volunteers Program, an initiative that tracks and rewards those who volunteer in their local communities.

Created by Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Reward Volunteers is a web-based program that tracks and rewards the efforts of volunteers and the organizations they serve. With Reward Volunteers, participants log and track their hours, and may post their activity to Facebook. The more hours accrued and the more sharing that occurs, the more chances volunteers have to win prizes for themselves but more importantly their beneficiary organizations have a chance to win cash prizes. The online tool is open to anyone and also provides a network of volunteer opportunities based on geographic location.

NCB, a big proponent of giving back within the communities it serves has donated $20,000 over the past two years to the Reward Volunteers Program. This June, NCB will be launching a nomination page for the Cabot Celebrity Cruise. Together with the Cabot Farmers, Points of Light and HandsOn Network, NCB will be celebrating those who have dedicated their hearts and time with little thought of personal recognition and will be rewarding two of these “celebrity” volunteers with a week-long Alaskan cruise.

“As a socially responsible, cooperatively owned financial institution, it is part of our overall philosophy to give back to the communities we serve,” said Mary Alex Blanton, Senior Vice President of National Cooperative Bank. “It is with great honor that we work closely with and sponsor the Reward Volunteers Program for the second year in a row. We look forward to rewarding our two volunteer winners with a trip of a lifetime to Alaska.”
