It has been no surprise that the banking industry has gone through some tough times over the past few years. It is in these times, organizations realize their strengths and the need to focus on what they do best. We will continue to concentrate our efforts in serving our cooperative customer base; including housing cooperatives, business cooperatives and other socially responsible organizations that benefit low to moderate income communities.
During the past year, the Bank set lending records, launched new programs and made substantial impact in the communities we serve—and we have no plans on slowing down in 2015.
Effective January 1, 2015, NCB, FSB, the wholly-owned thrift subsidiary of National Consumer Cooperative Bank (NCCB) converted to a national bank charter- National Cooperative Bank, N.A. The conversion to a national charter will allow us to better serve our commercial customers across the country. Customers will see very little change and there is no change in the direction of NCB or its ownership as a cooperative institution. The conversion enables us to offer more products and services to the broader cooperative community.
